  • Register for this event if you are planning on applying for our special exhibit in Hokkaido, Japan.

    When you are registered, you will be on the mailing list and be up-to-date with new and important information regarding the show.

    Please register no later than Sept. 30, to 2017

Registering for the intent to apply is not applying for the actual show. Show applications will be available this summer. Deadline to apply for the show is January 10th, 2018.

Rooted in Clay- Ceramics from the Pacific Northwest

The Hokkaido Pottery Society in Sapporo, Japan has invited the OPA to exhibit 30 pieces alongside works by the HPS in their coming 2018 exhibition.  We are truly honored by this invitation. The exhibit will be held in the Sapporo Museum of Contemporary Art within the Sapporo Art Park

This will be an exhibit that showcases masterful works reflecting the breadth and scope of our membership and ceramics in the Pacific Northwest.

Details:

  • Show dates: June 23-July 16 
  • OPA group (those who chose to travel) arrive in Hokkaido June 18
  • Deadline to Apply with images of actual pieces to go to Japan: January 7, 2018
  • Pieces must be delivered to Jeanne Henry by Jan 19th.
  • Bio for catalog must be filled out at time of application.
  • $30 application fee.
  • 30 Pieces will be selected by a jury.
  • Artists are not required to travel to Japan if their work is not accepted.  Participate in group tours and events.
  • Participating artists will be included with the exhibit catalog, this will have a head-shot of each artist, a photo of their piece, and brief artist's bio.
  • Pedestal size: 18"x18"
  • Wall Pieces accepted, size limit 39" x 19", weight 44 lbs.

NOTE Size restrictions for pedestal pieces unless with prior approval or payment of added shipping fee:  pieces must fit into an 18" square box, disassembled.
