Mashiko Japan Update - September 2012

Mashiko UpDate

The new NPO, MCAA(Mashiko Ceramics and Arts Assn. - transformed from TRF  in December 2011) has been very active helping ceramic artists, all other neighbor artists, and also helping people in earthquake area by sending 3 truck loads of pottery, etc.

Now they have a gallery, MCAA 6Gallery, in Mashiko and started having featured exhibitions, and shows. MCAA invited us to have a show at their gallery, but time involved was too short - not enough time to call for the membership, and go through jurying process to organize an official OPA show there  this time. However there will be an unofficial joint group show starting from the 6th through the 14th of
October, titled "Kizuna (Bond)".

MCAA  has been expressing their gratitude and thankfulness towards the OPA's fundraising last year
and this is their way of saying thank you for all the help we sent to the potters in Mashiko.
