The Oregon Potters Association, is a non-profit organization (EIN: 93-0811197) that has been in existence since 1980, and we currently boast 500 active members. Our premiere event, Ceramic Showcase, took place in 1982 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. In 2024, we will be celebrating our 42nd Showcase from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21. It is the Nation’s largest ceramics show and sale, with over 200 clay artists participating in booths and gallery space.
Ceramic Showcase welcomes between 13,000-18,000 visitors each year. This three-day, free event offers visitors the opportunity to meet exceptional ceramic artists who exhibit and sell their latest work. Adults and children can both learn a variety of clay-making techniques from professional potters on the Demo Stage and in the Clay Exploration Area.
Admission is free, is funded by the OPA ,and staffed by our members. We all work to support the arts and our cultural community, which includes artists, students, collectors, suppliers, galleries, museums, educators, schools, and the general public. We share a love for the history, evolution, and current events of all things ceramic.
Ceramic Showcase is an event that requires an incredible level of commitment, resource, and dedication from the OPA Board, Showcase Committee, and our participating membership. We humbly request your generous support to help uplift ceramic artists and their work. Your contribution will play a vital role in strengthening Oregon’s creative economy and enhancing the artistic vibrancy of our community.
Affordable and accessible opportunities are critical to the promotion of the artistic excellence of ceramic artists in Oregon, many of whom devote their lives and personal resources into being able to create. Your contribution will ensure this event continues to provide opportunities for artists and remains a free event for the public.
Thank you for your consideration of support to the OPA and its long-standing traditions of community, education, diversity and inspiration.
