Artist Statement
I make intimate sculptures and functional work. Many are rattles. Each is hand formed from slabs, pinching and or coils. I apply textures through carving, slip trailing and stamping. I have begun experimenting with screen printing. I use mid range stoneware and porcelain. Finishes are most often Cone 6 oxidation but you never know what I'll try next.
Biography
I have been making things with clay "in my spare time" since I was a teenager. Now that I am retired I am spending more time honing my craft. While I did not pursue an art degree I have taken dozens of art workshops from a wealth of talented instructors, most in the ceramics realm.
