Artist Statement
The importance of creativity and handwork in everyday life often gets overlooked. Those little daily rituals in our own lives are often universally shared with other individuals, families, and communities. It's exciting for me to find that using a mug I've made becomes a favorite moment in someone's quiet morning routine.

My hope is to make objects that enhance that feeling of connection and place.
Biography
Since 1996, my hands have been in clay and mixed-materials sculpture, in my studio work, through teaching, and in commissions.

Along side my creative practice, I have worked with a variety of organizations with the hope of making a difference in people's quality of life. This has included community art and craft organizations, a woodworking school, and shifted in 2007 to OHSU which is concerned with teaching, healing and discovery.

I've participated for a number of years in the Portland Japanese Gardens' Behind the Shoji show, some smaller endeavors, and also make my work available online and through studio visits.
