Artist Statement
Hi! I am a ceramic artist and a believer that handmade products have a unique ability to create a personal connection with the owner. Rock Dogs are one-of-a-kind ceramic collectibles with adorable, expressive faces of positivity that are meant to bring joy. The whimsical animal sculptures I create first emerged in 2019 while as a member of The Mud Room, the community ceramics studio located in SE Portland. I knew I had created something special, so I launched a successful Kickstarter in 2021 to start my studio. Nowadays, I create full-time at my home studio in SE Portland and have expanded my offerings to include functional pottery and in-person educational classes. I have gained experience vending at the Portland Saturday Market, Vancouver Fall Market, and various holiday markets. I look forward to growing as an artist, supporting the creativity of others, and joining an ever-expanding community of ceramic art professionals and enthusiasts.
