Oregon Potters Association & PCC Rock Creek Pottery Guild present: 

Design, Innovation and Function –  A two day workshop with visiting artist Jen Allen


Assembling wheel thrown and hand formed parts to create unique and expressive pottery.


Jen will demonstrate various approaches to making pottery, including:
     • Altering and decorating thrown work
     • Creating slab forms from templates
     • Making 2D and  3D sketches  to design new forms
     • Making and assembling handles, lids and spouts

Learn how to bring it all together in this information-packed workshop, and return to your studio invigorated and ready to bring your own ceramic work to the next level.


Artist Bio

Jennifer Allen is a studio potter and educator in Morgantown, West Virginia. Jennifer was awarded the 2006-2007 Taunt Fellowship at the Archie Bray Foundation and was recognized as an emerging artist at the 2008 NCECA Conference. She is also an active member of the ceramic collective, Objective Clay. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2002 and a Masters of Fine Arts from Indiana University in 2006.
