Handles are like chess, simple to learn but difficult to master. An intentional handle can really elevate the most basic form. Come join me in this 2 hour hands-on workshop as I demonstrate and articulate my view points on what makes a successful handle. We'll primarily focus on pulling a handle off of the mug with an emphasis on harmony and function. There will be time at the end to practice the techniques demonstrated while sharing your video feed to receive feedback.

You Will Learn:

  1. How to pull a handle off the mug.
  2. Why handles need more attention than the actual vessel.
  3. How to find balance and harmony through your handle on a difficult form.

Suggested for Workshop:

  • Leather hard mug
  • Wedged ball of clay - 1 lb
  • Scoring tool
  • Sponge
  • Water
  • Clay Journal for notes

The Zoom Demonstration will be recorded and sent out to all registrants if you want to attend but have a scheduling conflict during the live demonstration.

Since this is an online workshop, you will need to have a computer, tablet, or phone that can run video conferencing in a browser or app.
