Ceramic Showcase Video Chair

Job Description

As a new position, the Video Chair would oversee a team of two people and help produce videos to promote Ceramic Showcase and, if needed, advertising videos that would include the Gathering of the Guilds for the Media Planner. Prior to the event, archival media from past Showcases (footage and images) and Gathering of the Guilds shows (images) would be used. The videos would be used across our Social Media platforms and for mainstream media if requested by the Media Planner.

Technical Skill:

  • Every team member must be familiar with filming practices, understand lighting, how to get good audio, and how to edit.
  • Editing may be done by only 1 or 2 people, but everyone needs to understand what is involved in editing in order to capture footage in a way that is usable by the editor.
  • Knowledge and access to Photoshop.
  • Understand how to output specific video settings for the advertising campaign.

Equipment used:

  • Team members must have a smartphone that will capture HD footage. If an interview is needed, ideally the videographer will have a separate microphone to record audio. Recording an interview in a noisy room (eg. during Showcase) using only a smart phone is not acceptable.
  • Editing software that team members already own and is familiar with.
  • Media will be shared via the OPA google drive, so team members will need access.
